Ahmad bin Ali Stadium is also known as Al-Rayyan Stadium, a multipurpose stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar

Venue is named after the Qatar’s former Emir Ahmad bin Al Thani. The former stadium was built in 2003 but was demolished in 2015 and rebuilt with capacity of 40740 and renamed as Al Rayyan Stadium

About 90 % rubble of the demolished Ahmad bin Ali Stadium is used either in the construction of new Al Rayyan Stadium or public art projects.

Stadium was constructed by joint venture by Al Bagah and Larsen and Toubro Co.and work started in early 2016 and stadium inaugurated on 18 Dec., 2020

It is almost a rectangular shape structure and the most significant characteristic of the stadium is the illuminated façade spread over an area of 39000 Sq. Mtr.

Venue uses eco-friendly cooling technology with cooling capacity of 16000 tonnes. Building is energy efficient and also uses 20% less water as compared to other such venues.

Stadium will host total of seven group matches of 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is well connected to the capital Doha through Al Riffa Underground Station
